On Tuesday, Early Years teachers were very excited to welcome some of their new children starting at BIS Abu Dhabi in the Autumn Term.

On Friday, 5th May, our Year 12 students had the opportunity to showcase their hard work and dedication towards their Extended Essays (EE).

I start today’s newsletter celebrating BIS Abu Dhabi being shortlisted by Which School Advisor for ‘Best IB Blended Curriculum school in the UAE’.

Yes, boys can dance too. Last year, 22 boys from Year 5 and 6 worked with Nader Musharbash, a male professional dancer and choreographer to create a dance for the BSME Dance online Festival.

As part of our commitment to preparing students for life after school, we are excited to announce that all Year 10 students will be participating in a 5-day work experience placement from Monday, 5th to Friday, 9th June.  Prior to Covid, this was an annual feature of our school calendar, and we are delighted to be able to offer this valuable learning opportunity once again.

Congratulations to all our students who recently undertook the challenge to create an artwork inspired by the key advocacy theme of Sustainable Development Goal: 4 Quality Education set by our Global Campus team for the 2023 Visual Arts Competition.

Between 25th-27th April, BIS Abu Dhabi Primary students competed in the ultimate test of mental agility!

Max is not your typical Year 7 student. He has a passion that burns brighter than most, a passion that has taken him to the track time and time again.

We have recently removed the lost property items from the Snug area at the Primary Entrance to be washed and organised.

Congratulations to two of our Year 10 students who have been awarded a Headteacher's Commendation Award for achieving incredible results in the UKMT Maths Olympiad challenge and the Hamilton Olympiad paper.

This week saw the return of our EYFS and Key Stage 1 ‘Celebration of Swim’.

Last week, BIS Abu Dhabi celebrated Arabic Week. There was a lot going on around the school for all year groups to get involved in.

The British International School Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint Exam Invigilators to provide invigilation for external examinations at the school.

We recently met with our Secondary students and highlighted the expectations of a BIS Abu Dhabi student and of a BIS Abu Dhabi teacher.  We shared our vision statement, which clearly states that at BIS Abu Dhabi we are ‘Empowering and Enriching lives for future success.’ In our newsletter today, I want to also highlight our mission statement or as we made clear to our students, our promise.

As Term 2 came to a close, we were proud to recognise exceptional students who have made a real difference to BIS Abu Dhabi and the wider community at the Primary School end of Term BISAD Diploma awards assembly.

Join us for a Parent Coffee morning with guest speaker Donna Howarth, a 3rd Age Women coach, founder of Middle East Menopause Organisation (MEMO), and a passionate advocate for women's health.

On Monday, BIS Abu Dhabi hosted a beautiful Community Iftar gathering for parents, students, and staff during the holy month of Ramadan.

Prior to the holidays, we took 20 Year 7 to Year 9 students to the Regional Round of the World Scholar’s Cup.
