19th August, Léman International School Chengdu celebrated the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Under the guidance of our Principal, Tracy Connor, our team of dedicated teachers welcomed all our returning students and many new families with enthusiasm. With the joy of reunion and the expectation of the new school year on their faces, the students, accompanied by their teaching assistants, stepped into their refreshed and innovative classrooms to meet with their homeroom teachers and explore the new term's expectations and high standards.

By offering transformative leadership and community service opportunities that develop the skills, values, and outlook our students need to become the conscientious global citizens of tomorrow.

The arrival of these seven new teachers will undoubtedly add more diverse colours and vitality to our education team, further promoting the internationalization process of the school and facilitating the cultivation of future leaders with a global perspective and cross-cultural communication skills.

We are pleased to announce that our students are again celebrating outstanding IBDP results for the 2023/24 school year. This year, students achieved an exceptional score of 34.5, well above the world average of 30.32, with 18% achieving a score above 40.

LIS recently received a prestigious award from the Nord Anglia Social Impact Programme! Our school has been awarded the Social Impact Distinction (Bronze) accreditation: Rights and Goals Committed. This distinction supports schools in integrating their efforts on children's rights and global goals to create a significant impact on local, national, and global communities.

Classroom design is a crucial element in the educational experience, impacting student engagement, comfort, and learning outcomes. Traditionally, educators and architects have been the primary decision-makers in designing these spaces. However, at LIS, our perspective emphasises the importance of incorporating student voice in the design process. This approach not only aligns with contemporary educational philosophies but also fosters environments that are more attuned to the needs and preferences of the learners themselves.

Léman International School in Secondary division concluded the academic year with a grand Prize Giving Day event, a celebration of our students' hard work and dedication over the past year. Held at the Fusion Theater, the event was attended by proud parents, enthusiastic teachers, and all the students of the Secondary school, making it a memorable and heartfelt occasion.

Global Campus’ mission is to provide our students with opportunities to globally connect and interact with their NAE peers and our collaborations.

A total of 123 students have been selected from across Nord Anglia Education’s global family of schools to attend this year’s NAE-UNICEF Student Summit.

Léman International School in Chengdu recently held its Year 12 Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition, a highlight in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme calendar. Under the guidance of music teacher Ms. Silvia Zhang, our recent EYFS and lower primary concert was a tremendous success, showcasing the talents and confidence of our young performers. After weeks of diligent rehearsal, the children took to the stage with remarkable poise and enthusiasm.

On a rainy Sunday in June, a group of teachers from Lèman International School traded their usual classroom duties for a day of intense dragon boat racing. Led by Principal Mrs. Connor, a team of 10 teachers from school participated in the annual Dragon Boat Festival, showcasing their spirit, teamwork, and athletic prowess.

The young stars of Léman International School's Upper Primary take center stage on June 4, 2024 for a spectacular Summer Concert like no other! In a celebration of talent, creativity, and boundless enthusiasm, our students showcased their musical prowess and artistic flair in an unforgettable performance that captivated audiences of proud parents. From inspiring vocal to amazing violin ensembles, and captivating pop group performance, culminating in a high energy finale, the summer concert left everyone with smiles on their faces and melodies in their hearts.

This past week has been an exhilarating journey for our Year 6 students as they embarked on their transition into the Middle Years Programme (MYP).

At Léman International School, Diversity Day isn't just an event; it's a vibrant celebration of cultures, traditions, and the beautiful tapestry of humanity. Despite the threat of rainfall, the day unfolded seamlessly, filled with joy, learning, and connections.

The Virtual Young Musician of the Year Competition, one of our big Nord Anglia Global Campus events, recently came to a thrilling conclusion. Students from Léman International School, as well as other schools within the Nord Anglia family, showcased their exceptional musical talents in this highly anticipated event. After a rigorous selection process, the winners of this year's competition were announced.

In the heart of every musician lies a passion that transcends age, a desire to express oneself through rhythm, melody, and harmony. This passion was palpable and electrifying as lower primary, upper primary, and secondary students clashed in the epic musical showdown of “The Battle of The Bands”. With creativity as their compass and music as their weapon, these young talents transformed school halls into arenas of excitement, leaving spectators spellbound and tapping their feet to the beat.
